New Mind, 2

Do you ever wonder why there is so much fascination with the occult?  Why anyone would openly align themselves with the devil?  We have within us a desire to see supernatural things happen.

Dad said in his article:
I have come to believe that the normal Christian life includes miracles, spiritual intervention, and revelation.  Its nature is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, and a sense of well-being and purpose.  Sadly, most of these traits are not common among the majority of Christians. But God has put in every believer a DNA that longs to see the impossible.

We are not to pray for supernatural events in order for people to be impressed by us but rather for God to be glorified in order to bring God's Kingdom to earth.  In Dad's article he said that we are to PROVE God to a broken and hurting world.  Imagine that!

I'm sure you are familiar with The Lord's Prayer.  When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray He said pray in this way, "Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven..."  We are to pray for God's Kingdom to come to earth.  Our minds must be transformed to be of any use in God's Kingdom!

Dad went on to say:
The mind is important as a powerful instrument of God’s Holy Spirit. It is the gateway into the kingdom’s activity here on earth. The mind has to be renewed in order to bring God’s kingdom activity to reality here on earth.  The RENEWED MIND, then, reflects the reality of another world in the same way Jesus shone with heaven’s brilliance. It is not that our thoughts are different, but that our way of thinking is transformed because we think from a different reality from heaven toward the earth!  That is the transformed perspective. That is how we are able to prove the will of God. We prove the will of God when we bring the reality of heaven here on earth.

Colossians 2:2-4
I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God's great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we've been shown the mystery! I'm telling you this because I don't want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries, or "the Secret."

Lord, Help me to release control and LET you transform my mind!
